The Law, Justice and Development Week 2016 will convene a broad community of development professionals who use law and justice tools to battle poverty and boost shared prosperity. The theme for this year’s event is “Law, Climate Change and Development”.
Law, Justice and Development Week (LJD Week) is an annual event organized by the Legal Vice Presidency of the World Bank in collaboration with the Global Forum on Law, Justice and Development, an international knowledge exchange platform of over 170 partners engaged in legal aspects of development. The conference draws over 1,000 participants and convenes a broad community of development professionals who use law and justice tools to battle poverty and boost shared prosperity.
Word Bank and Global Forum invite scientists to submit a proposal for a session during the 2016 Law, Justice and Development (LJD) Week, which will be held from December 5-9, at World Bank Headquarters in Washington D.C. The conference draws a large audience of international participants and offers an excellent forum to share knowledge and connect with others working on law and development matters.
The conference will be organized as follows:
• Climate Days - Monday and Tuesday will be devoted exclusively to Law, Climate Change, and Development.
• International Financial Institutions Day - Wednesday will focus on issues of interest to International Financial Institutions (IFIs). While some presentations will relate to climate change, many other topics relevant to work of IFIs will be covered as well.
• Global Forum Day - Thursday will feature meetings and presentations by partners of the Global Forum on Law, Justice and Development on a wide range of topics related to the post-2015 Sustainable Development Goals.
• World Bank Group Day - Friday will be reserved for knowledge events targeted to lawyers working in the World Bank Group.
Deadline for proposals: May, 27, 2016.
